The Paris-Sorbonne University is regarded as the biggest institution in France concentrating on the Humanities as well as Classical Studies.
Paris-Sorbonne greets roughly 23,000 students and it provides BAs, Mas, MBAs, doctorates, and teacher’s certification in various disciplines and subjects, under the supervision of about 1200 faculty members.
Its excellence is confirmed by the number and quality of doctoral dissertations defended annually and various top-level research centers arranged into seven major Graduate Schools.
Also, Paris-Sorbonne delights a world-wide fame and it promotes worldwide relations with numerous foreign institutions in eastern, central and western Europe, in the Far Eas and Middle, in South and North America. The university greets international scholars in a percentage exceeding 40%.
Each student must get a certificate or take a French language examination to confirm he has borne a French test.
Possessing a good knowledge in French is not a single requirement to apply to this university. Your application will be viewed by a Pedagogical Board. Each detail will be considered: the level of French, the universitary degrees, the motivation, other degrees and others.
You do not need to take a French language examination if
1) you come from a country with French as an official language,
2) you come from the French bilingual section recognized by the Department of Education & the Foreign Office,
3) you have the “DALF.”
In the Sorbonne, you can turn to two centres CCFS (le Centre de Civilisation Française)and SELFEE (le Service des Examens de Langue Française pour Etudiants Etrangers).
